Eldign I - the best whale watching boat in Iceland
The Elding, based in Reykjavik, is a 125-tonnag
e well decorated cruiser with a 150 passenger capacity. The Elding is perfectly suited for whale watching. With its two viewing levels and the new third deck, the boat allowes all passengers to watch the whales in their natural habitats. Elding is safe, well-built and extremely stable boat, originally built as a rescue ship. Drinks, sandwiches, snacks and souvenirs are sold at the bar, in a comfortable lounge located on the main deck. A seafood soup with bread or a special menu can be provided for groups. Both warm overalls and raincoats are provided, free of charge, onboard Elding. Every tour has an English-speaking guide and in the lounge you will find books with information about the life in the Icelandic waters as well as recent photos from our tours.
Fun for the children
Elding wants to make sure that the children are entertained during the trip. Therefore, there is a special children’s area inside the boat where they can play. The young ones can have fun playing with plush whales, puffin toys, coloring books and children’s books on whales and sea birds in many languages.
