The Whale Watching Centre has been operating since spring 1998. For our whale watching- and entertaining tours we have been using Mv. Hafsulan since 2001, which is a catamaran that can carry 150 passengers and Mv. Gestur, used for deep sea fishing tours and tours around the islands here in Kollabay, able to carry 38 passengers. Both of the boats are equipped with a plough, which enables them to catch shell and other interesting marine marvels to take a look at and taste. In addition to this, Gestur has an underwater-camera and underwater-sound system.

In November 2003 the Whale Watching Centre bought an old capelin fishing vessel, “Fífill”. This is to increase the service for our passengers and guests, transforming it into an exhibition - and information centre on whales and seabirds and to make a more comfortable entrance for our passengers as well as keeping the company’s office. The entrance to our centre is free of charge for our passengers.
