Tour at 09:00: The weather today was pretty good, bit of wind but not to bad. We headed out and after sailing for a while we spotted feeding Gannets ahead of us. In that area we spotted several different Minke Whales. We spotted many blows around us and some of them didn't surface more then once before going for a deep dive again. Two of the Minke Whales surfaced very close to us several times before we had to start heading back to the harbour.

Tour at 13:00: The wind had picked up a lot when we headed out for this tour but we didn't feel it much on our way out there. First we spotted a pod of White-beaked Dolphins. We stayed with them for a while and when we were just about to head on a Minke Whale surfaced very close to us. We spotted blows further away and headed that way but this Minke Whale seamed to be avoiding the boat so we turned the boat around and headed on. Soon we spotted massive splashes far far away from us. This was definitely a breaching whale but it was still to far to see what it was. We headed on full speed and the whale kept breaching again and again. At one point we thought there might even be two of them breaching there but it was difficult to tell since we were still quite far away. The whale kept on breaching and we finally started to see the whale and this was a BREACHING MINKE WHALE It was so amazing it breached at least 30-40 times after we got there. I lost count early on do to the excitement but this was absolutely brilliant.

Tour at 09:00: The weather was great this morning. A bit cloudy but the wild was calm and no rain. After sailing for about 40-50 minutes we spotted the first whales. We found a very nice pod of Harbour Porpoises. At first it appeard to be only 2 or 3 individuals but close by we spotted more of them and there were at least 10-12 of them there possibly more. When we were about to head further on in search for the larger whales a Minke Whale surfaced just 5 meters away from the boat. It surfaced 4 times this close to us and then a further out we spotted another one. In close by there were feeding Gannets, Shearwaters, Fulmars and Guillamots. When heading back to the harbour we then spotted another Minke Whale. This was a very small Minke, guessing 4-6 meters long. It surfaced several times for us before heading for new adventures. Unfortunatelly we didn't have time to follow this time and headed back to the harbour.

Tour at 13:00: The sun was shining when we headed out. The wind was blowing from behind so it was like on the warmest summer days when heading out to Faxaflói bay. On our way out there we came a cross one Minke Whale. We didn't stay for very long with it and headed further out. When we got further we spotted a flock of feeding Gannets. And both right under them and around the area where they were we found many Minke Whales. Some of them surfaceing close to us and others further away. We even spotted one of them rolling at the top of the surface and another that came on full speed swimming on the side so we could see the white belly through the surface and half of the fluke was sticking out and then it went straight for a deep dive with a big splash. Great tour.

Tour at 09:00: Nice weather but a little bit misty when we headed out this morning. After sailing for 45 minutes we spotted a blow in the distance. It was a blow form a Minke whale. When we got closer we saw there were many Minke whale in this area, and allot of feeding birds and diving Gannets. Some of the whales came very close and one time one of them surfaced only 20 meters from the boat so all our passengers could have a good look at the animal. Then a small group of Harbour porpoises showed up close to our boat. Very nice tour with two species seen.

Tour at 13:00. The weather again was quite hazy and the visability not the best but good enough to see the whales from a distance. The wind seemed to calm down quite alot too which was nice. We went to the same spot as the last tour but on the way we came across a pod of Harbour Porpoises which surfaced many times and less than 50 meters from our boat. Then it took us a while before we could get close to a Minke Whale, they were also surfacing many hundred meters away. Then we found one that surfaced many times and close to the boat too. We just stayed in one spot for about 30 minutes or more just watching this Minke Whale circle us, surf the swells and blow bubbles under the water. Then after a while another Minke was in the area. We left these guys and headed towards the flocks of diving Gannets, then we found one Minke Whale that was absolutely mindblowing to watch, just 20-30 meters from our boat you could see the whale lunge feeding under the water not only once but a couple of times. Other birds we saw were Guillemots, Skuas, Gulls, Kittiwakes, Fulmars, one Puffin, Razorbills, Manx Shearwaters and one Sooty Shearwater. Fantastic Tour!!!

Tour at 17:00: It was the same nice weather even though it was raining a bit when we headed out this afternoon. It took us about 40 minutes to find the whales again. First we spotted a small group of Harbour porpoises, a nice group. A few minutes later we found a very good area with lots of feeding birds. And the Minke whales were having a party, or it looked like it. There were so many Minke whales in the area and they were surface feeding, lunges feeding, even coming up with the pink belly up many times. Amazing.....We even turned the engine of and enjoyed the whales feeding around the boat. Some times it was difficult to know where to look because there were splashes every where around us from lunges feeding Minkes. A few times we could even smell them .So on this tour we could watch them, hear them breathing and smell there disgusting sushi-breath. All together absolutely unforgettable tour.

Tour at 9:00. Today was not the best weather wise, it was drizzling and the visability wasn´t great but the sea was calm eventhough there was a slight swell. We headed out into Faxaflói Bay was saw a couple of Puffins fly by, nice to see that they are still about. Then we saw a dorsal fin in the distance, yes a Minke Whale. It only surfaced once before disappearing but we did notice that there was also a couple of small pods of Harbour Porpoises which were really nice to watch for a while. After leaving the Porpoises and sailing for a bit longer we saw some breaching White-beaked Dolphins. They were breaching loads but as we got closer they stopped. Our attention then suddenly got transfered to a fast surfacing Minke Whale that seemed to be surface feeding. Before we knew it we were surrounded by Minke Whales. They surfaced only 20 meters from us, lunge feeding and also surfing the waves. It was great we turned of our engines and watched nature at its best. Unfortunetly we couldn´t find the dolphins again but the Minke Whales were just fantastic. Great Tour!!

Tour at 13:00- We had a lovely tour this afternoon. After sailing for 50 minutes we spotted lots of feeding birds in one area. There were Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Shearwaters and Gulls. There were also many many Minke whales feeding there. The sea was full of fish, and it was like the surface was boiling all around the boat. The whales were very busy feeding, some surface feeding and surfacing very close to our vessel many times. We turned of the engine and enjoyed the wild nature. On our way back a small group of Harbour porpoises crossed our path. 5-6 animals and they were not shy at all. Very nice group. Perfect ending on a fantastic tour ;)

Tour at 17:00. OMG what an AMAZING TOUR!!. The sea was mirror calm and the visability cleared quite alot. We headed out into Faxaflói Bay and after about 30-40 minutes we saw a large pod of Harbour Porpoises (5-10 individuals) surfing the waves towards us. We couldn´t stop though because we got word of an area where there were whales surface feeding. We arrived, wordless, overwhelmingly, mindblowingly estounding amazment. Surface feeding Minke Whales as far as the eye could see, one lunge feeding Humpback Whale once surfacing only 10 meters from us, Harbour Porpoises joining in on the fun and boiling waters of fish everywhere and if that wasn´t enough White-beaked Dolphins to end the tour perfectly. AAAARRRRRHHHHHHH!!!!

Tour at 09:00: When we headed out this morning it was foggy and drizzling. We searched for a while until we found Gannets flying over something. They were not feeding but it seemed as if they were waiting for the fish to get there when they were flying in circles above the water. We found one Minke Whale there. It surfaced several times but it was avoiding the boat a bit so we kept on searching. Finally when we got pretty far out we got to an area where the Gannets were feeding a lot and there were several different Minke Whales there. Some surfaced close to us but others further away. Among other birds in that area we had some Kittiwakes, Gulls, Fulmars, Guillamots, Shearwaters and we also spotted one Puffin there, one of few we have left.

Tour at 13:00: We headed out again at 13:00. The wind had gone down a lot. Bit of rain once in a while but it was not to bad. We had along search ahead of us. First we spotted briefly some Harbour Porpoises, but we didn't stay with them for very long. We then kept on searching. We found areas with lots of Gannets but there didn't seem to be many whales there. We then got to an area where we found at least 3-4 different Minke Whales. But these Minkes were very difficult. We were able to see them very well but they stayed under water for very long after each deep dive so there was a lot of waiting around for them to come up again. While waiting we spotted another Puffin and later on we spotted at least two more. We then decided to head further out. We went pretty far out and there we found a nice flock of feeding Gannets. They were spread over some large area and there we started to spot blowes from whales further away. When we got there we spotted at least 4 there right in front of us and one of them surfaced several times very close to us. Great ending after a long search.

Tour at 17:00: After we got into Faxaflói bay we first spotted one Minke Whale. This Minke Whale was very difficult. Later we spotted a small pod of Harbour Porpoises, they surfaced several times for us to see them. The next two Minke Whales were a bit easier but still difficult so we desided to head further out. When we got there we spotted feeding Gannets in the distance and while we were heading there we started to spot blowes from Minke Whales we spotted two of them and then White-beaked Dolphins. We stayed with them for a while, but we really wanted one more Minke Whale so we kept searching and our wish came true. We found at least 5 Minke Whales there ond one came up so close to the boat that it felt like we could touch it, it was amazing. In the same area we also spotted several Puffins and while all these were around us the sun finally started shining again after a misty, foggy but still a great day.

Tour at 09:00: We headed out to Faxaflói bay again this morning.  There was some wind but not to bad and the sun was shining which made it much better. We first spotted Harbour Porpoises. We managed to see them for a bit before we lost them and after that there was a long search. Not many birds around. One Puffin was spotted so some of them are still around. Then finally towards the end we found a very nice Minke Whale. We were able to stay with it for 40 minutes and it surfaced many times all around us.

Tour at 13:00: As the day went by the wind went down and the sea was getting much better at this point. During this tour we first spotted two difficult Minke Whales. Then eventually we found a nice Minke Whale that surfaced many times around us and several times close to the boat as well. Time was running away from us so we had to head back towards the harbour and when we are just about to head back we spotted some White-beaked Dolphins and another Minke Whale right next to them.

Tour at 17:00: At this point the wind was almost all gone and there were no white caps any more. We headed out and this time we desided to head further out. On our way some of us spotted a small pod of Harbour Porpoises. But they quikly dissapeard so we headed on. When were getting pretty far out we started spotting splashes and some blows from whales and when we got closer there was a large flock of feeding Gannets and around them there were quite many Minke Whales some of them surfacing close to us and others further away. Some times many of them surfaced at the same time which was excellent, but after a while we had to leave them since we had a bit more than an hour back to shore.

Tour at 9:00: Beautiful weather once again, flat sea, clear skies, great visability. We travelled for about 40-50 minutes before we came across a couple of small pods of Harbour Porpoises. They were surfacing loads and very near to the boat on the odd occasion too. Then a little while after that we saw a Minke Whale but we couldn´t get very close to it, it always stayed at least 2-300 meters away from us and only surfaced once or twice before going for a long deep dive. We were finding it very hard to keep track of this whale so we decided to go look for another. We then got word from our sister vessel Hafsulan that they found a Minke Whale that was more interactive. We got there and it was great surfacing less than 100 meters from us however, it did seem to be preoccupied (maybe following fish) as it was continuously changing directions. Birds we saw on this trip were, Gannets, Gulls, Kittiwakes, Fulmars, Guillemots and Manx Shearwaters.

Tour at 9:00: Once again the weather was great, calm sea, clear blue skies and brilliant visability. We were quite lucky with the Minke Whales today because they were very close to land however, they were being quite elusive, surfacing only once or twice before going for a deep dive. We did spot about 3 or 4 though, one of which surfaced less than 50 meters from our boat on a couple of occasions. Just as the time was starting to run out and the Minke Whales weren´t being that cooperative we happened across a pod of White-beaked Dolphins which seemed to of found us rather than the other way round. They were really great, surfacing very close to the boat (less than 20 meters), leaping, breaching, surfing the swells and just hanging about whilst we observed. Really great end to a bit of a difficult tour.

Tour at 13:00: We headed out straight into Faxaflói. On our way out there we spotted two different pods of White-beaked Dolphins they were very difficult and we kept loosing them and then finding them further away. After following them for a while we headed on and later we spotted a Minke Whale quite far away. it surfaced several times but always went for a long deep dive before coming up again. The next two Minke Whales we spotted were the same until close to the end when we found one Minke Whale. It was coming up to the surface again and again onle 1-2 meters away from another vessel that was out there and that Minke Whale gave us quite the show. After a while we had to start heading back since we were about an hour away from shore.

Tour at 17:00: The wind picked up slightly but the weather was pretty much the same as before except for the beautiful evening light. It took us a very long time to find the Minke Whales for this tour as once again they were about 50 mins to 1hrs boat ride out but eventually we found them. They were still being very elusive though, not letting us close. The closest we got was about 60-70 meters and that was when it was heading away from us. We saw at least 2 or 3 Minkes on this tour as well as a small pod of Harbour Porpoises. We were quite lucky with the birds too, we saw, a couple of Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Skuas, Gulls, Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes and Manx Shearwaters. Seemed to be quite a long tour with a lot of waiting but the Minkes pulled through for us once again.

Tour at 09:00. Today the weather was absolutely wonderful. The sun was shining, it wasd a bit clouds but there was still alot of blue sky, sea was calm and the visability was amazing. We sailed for about 40 minutes before we saw our first Minke Whale which was a real suprise considering how far they were out the last couple of days. This Minke was quite elusive and stayed a distance from us but we were still able to get within 100 meters from it. We left this Minke after a while and went searching for others. On the way we came across a small pod of Harbour Porpoises which surfaced a few times then disappeared. We then found an area were there were a lot of Minkes, some surfacing less than 50 meters from us and very frequently too and also some more Harbour Porpoises. What was also special about this tour was that we saw a Puffin chick with its mummy, so cute. Great tour.

Tour at 13:00: What beautiful weather we got here today. The sun was shining and the see was calm like a mirror. It is very nice after many windy days. We headed out to the same area we found the Minke whales earlier this morning and they were still there, feeding. Some of them surfaced quite close to our vessel so our passengers could have a good look at the animals. We even turned off the engine and enjoyed the wild nature. Then we spotted a small group of White-beaked dolphins. It was very difficult to get close to them, they were always diving down and coming up somewhere else. But one time the captain was very clever and moved the boat to the right area and the next time the dolphins surfaced they came up close to our vessel. So once again a very successful trip out in Faxaflóa bay today;)

Tour at 17:00: The wind had picked up slightly but it was a beautiful evening to go whale watching. Again it only took us about 40 minutes to find our first Minke Whale which we stayed with for a while, it was great surfacing less than 50 meters on occasion and after it got used to our presence it surfaced frequently. We then saw some White-beaked Dolphins a couple of kilometers away. Once we got closer we realised that there was two small pods, we concentrated on one for a while and then the other. They came close sometimes but it was especially nice to see them all surfacing together. We then saw a large blow in the distance, thinking it might be another species of whale we went to investigate but it ended up being a large Minke Whale. We found the Minke Whale jackpot as Minkes Whales were surfacing everywhere, as far as the eye could see. They were surface feeding, rolling and blowing bubbles under the water. Such an amazing tour, absolutely fantastic.

Tour at 09:00. With cold, windy but sunny weather we headed out to Faxaflói searching for whales. The first species we spotted was a group of Harbour porpoises. They were fast swimming and we followed them for a while. Then much further out in the bay, after searching for a long time, we finally spotted some Minke Whales and in same area a group of White-beaked dolphins. They showed up behind the bout so it was difficult to decide if we were looking in front at the Minkes or behind to see the dolphins. The dolphins were nice and surfaced all around us and later we found some Minke Whale which came close to our boat. So three species on this tour. Not badJ

Tour at 13:00: The wind had picked up some but the skies where clear and the visability fantastic. It felt like quite a long tour this tour because the whales were over an hours boat ride away. We did see a few Puffins on the way out though. We eventually found a Minke Whale but at first it was very elusive but i warmed up to us and started to surface many times but some of which were covered by the swells. Other whale watching boats started to arrive so we let this whale be to go looking for another. Unfortunetly no others were found but some passenegers did spot some Harbour Porpoises but they had gone just as fast as they arrived. Not the best tour but it was better than nothing.

Tour at 17:00: The wind had picked up allot when we headed out again this afternoon. And we had to sail for a long time before we were able to find the whales. 35 kilometers from the harbor we finally came in an area with a few Minke Whales, a big group of White-beaked dolphins and lots of feeding Gannets. The Minke whales were surface feeding allot, making some splashes and just before we had to start heading back to the harbor some White-beaked dolphins started to breach out of the water. So we sailed back to the harbor in beautiful weather with a lot of smiling passengers.;)

Tour at 9:00: It was nice to see that Faxaflói had calmed down alot from the last couple of blustery days. The visability was great and there was clear blue skies. The first cetacean of the day was White-beaked Dolphins which we saw about 40 minutes into the trip. They were great surfacing close to the boat, leaping out of the water and surfing the waves. They got fed up with us after a while though as they dived doen and wasn´t spotted again. Then after about another 30-40 minutes we came to the area where there were a couple of Minke Whales but they were being quite elusive and not letting us get closer than a couple of hundred meters from them. Birds we saw were, Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Gulls, Puffins and Manx Shearwaters.

Tour at 13:00: It took us about an hour to get where the Minkes were again and again they were being quite elusive only coming up a couple of times and then going for a long deep dive. There wasn´t as many Gannets this time either but there were more Puffins to see. Just as we were about to turn back towards the harbour a Minke Whale appeared out of nowhere and only 10 meters from our boat. It surfaced 3 more times and all the time very close so that you could really apprieciate the size and appearence of the whale.

Tour at 17.00: The wind had picked up slightly but the evening light was really beautiful. Unfortunetly the Minke Whales were again about an hours ride out and very elusive. We saw loads of blows from the whales but never the body. The bay was also quite quiet on the seabird front too which wasn´t a good sign but we did see an Arctic Skua which hasn´t been seen in a while.

Tour at 09:00: It was very windy out in Faxaflói today. We headed out prepared for rough conditions and we had lots of fresh air, huge flock of Gannets but unfortunately after searching for up to 3 hours we didn't see any whales and offered our passengers a complimentary ticket to come again for free.

Tour at 13:00: The wind had slightly calmed down when we headed out but picked up again when we got further out. This tour was slightly more success then the first tour of the day. Unfortunatelly there were not many Gannets around but we spotted at least 4 Minke Whales. Three in one area and then the 4th one close by. One surfaced several times very close to the boat while the others were a bit further away.

Tour at 17:00: The wind had gone down again when we headed out for this tour. We searched and searched for a while without spotting any flocks of birds or any whales. We then spotted a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins, they surfaced around us for a while. When we lost them we spotted blowes from Minke Whales further away and there was also a flock of feeding Gannets there. On our way there the small pod of White-beaked Dolphins followed us and the closer we got to the Gannets we started seeing splashes and more and more blows. When we finally go there we had hit a huge party. There were so many White-beaked Dolphins there right underneath all the Gannets whitch were plunging into the water and so many Minke Whales right there with them that I lost count early on. We stayed there for a while until we had to start heading back to the harbour. One of the best tours this summer!!
