Today´s trip was absolutly fabulous. The sea wasn´t very calm, but we have seen many whales and I just had to admire the professionalism and pleasant attitude of your crew. Whenever I remember to Iceland, I will remeber this trip. Thank you.

Guys,
This is just a quick note to tell you how fantastic you all were during our whale watching trip with you last Tuesday. The weather was dreadful but Megan and the crew kept us well informed and entertained as we sailed around the ocean in search of the elusive whales! We spotted a great Humpbacked Whale close to coming home and it was just the greatest moment. You summed it up very well in the daily diary with the comment of ‘Not the best of weather but the best of whales!’. Awesome experience just for the boat ride itself but capped off with a fantastic view of a whale doing what it does it best! Many thanks, we will be back when the weather is more kind to enjoy the experience again.

Dear Eldings

We joined your whalewatchingtour march 21, starting in Keflavik ending in Reykjavik. Unfortunatly we didnt see any whales this time, but your fantastic crew and guide made it to
a fantastic day on the sea. Your dedicated guide Megan taught us everything about both whales and seabirds during the trip.
The day after we joined the Imagine Peace Tour to Videy. Once again Megan made this tour to a fantastic memory, in her charming way of showing us the island and Peach Monument.

Thank you Eldings and Megan we will be back.

Yours sincerely,

Marie-Louise and Lars from Sweden

Dear Sir/Madam,

we went on a whale watching tour with your company on a clear and dry day and this tour was just awful. This tour spoilt our stay in Iceland. If this tour hadn´t been it would have been a perfect holiday.

You should inform all readers of your homepage that the tours are with boats that are not comparable to a cruise ship or ferry. You should inform all readers that about half of the guests will be seasick on the tour, vomiting all over the place and feeling awful. You should inform all readers that if they still want to go on the tour that they should take strong anti-sickness medication beforehand and not be surprised not to enjoy it. None of this information is found on your homepage.

Best regards

Conny

Dear Conny,

We are terribly sorry to hear that this was your experience of our whale watching tour and the effect it had on your stay in Iceland.

Thank you for contacting us to inform us about your disappointment and again thank you for the suggestion regarding the information on our webpage. We will take the matter into consideration as we are currently working on a new homepage and surely want our guests to be aware of the factors that can influence their tour.

Now I'm sure that you are aware that there are always good and bad days, and given your description and after consulting with the crew on board that day this was clearly one of the bad ones. Luckily there are in general much more good days than bad. By no means I'm trying to undermine your experience of this tour but I know for a fact that it is an overstatement that "about half of the guests will be seasick on the tour, vomiting all over the place and feeling awful". It surly can happen but it doesn't happen often and we do our best to prevent those situations.

We do our best to inform all our passengers beforehand if the conditions are not the best. Sometimes we cancel a tour while at other times we inform our passengers of what they might expect, suggest that it might be better to go another day even though we still sail out with those who want. We rely largely on the local weather forecast and our crew's assessment of the situations. Even though the weather forecast is most of the time right it sometimes fails and conditions are worse than expected -like happened on the tour you took with us.

I want to thank you again for giving you the time to write to us we truly appreciate it and will use your letter to do our best to improve our service both on the website and at our ticket office. It is an important reminder that we can always do better in informing our customers about situation and what to expect.

I hope that you will not let this stop you in visiting Iceland again and will let us have another change to make up for your disappointment of you former visit.

All the best,
Rannveig Gretarsdóttir

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for such a brilliant day today. We saw so much, including my husband's beady eye spotting the whale with another passenger.

We just wanted to tell Megan that, as we climbed back onto the smaller white bus to come home, we saw a whale arch itself out of the water at the mouth of harbour, 300-400m out directly out. The 3 of us all saw it at once and hollered - again!

An amazing trip to celebrate my 50th birthday, and my name is Minky!

We have face ache from all the manic grinning!

Thank you, thank you thank you!
Best wishes,
Minky, Peter and Looby

Hello Elding team;

Thanks for the nice and very informative trip last week (15. Jan.).
Unfortunately we didn't see whales, but a lot of nice birds and the
coast of Iceland. That was also an adventure. To offer complimentary
tickes is a great service. Thank you very much! I'm afrait that the
weather was not good enought for another chance the last days of our
vacation. And now what a pity...every day you see Orcas and Humpback
whales! :-) Good on you and all your guests.
I think we'll try it again next year during a next trip to Iceland.
Keep it up!

Greetings from Germany
Andreas

Hi all at Elding,

I just wanted to thank you all for our fantastic tour on 2nd January 2012. We decided to go whale watching at the last minute and didn't expect to see anything at all but the sightings we got of the dolphins and orca whales were amazing! I can't believe how close they got to the boat!

I apologise for not catching her name but our guide was also brilliant - she was really informative about what we were seeing and the general background of the marine environment in Iceland.

Thank you again and keep up the great work!

I don't think I'll ever get as close to a whale (let alone a minke) as we did on the 10th. Certainly it wouldn't happen in Australia where I've done whale watching before.
Please pass on my compliments to Harpa, who led the tour on the 10th, too. Her sheer enthusiasm for her job shone through, and made even the points when we were watching and waiting hopefully a lot more interesting than they could have been. As for when the whale appeared dead ahead and remarkably close, it was clear from her shouts that nobody had expected anything like that. A sure-fire way to make an already memorable experience a much more exciting one.
