Sea angling is a must do for first timers and experienced fishermen alike. Just breathing in the fresh air, being out in the open ocean and catching your first fish of the day make this an experience you’ll never forget. For years the Icelandic population has relied largely on fisheries and its products have been renowned all around the world. The fishing grounds in Faxaflói have attracted Icelandic fishermen for centuries and our captain knows the area better than any other.


Scheduled Sea Angling Tours

Sea angling tours are scheduled from Reykjavík harbor from daily from 1 May to 30 September. Our captains will take you to the best fishing grounds the bay offers and give you a great insight in this fantastic Icelandic tradition. On board you’ll get all the fishing equipment you need, a rain jacket to keep you dry and a seaman’s coffee to keep you focused. The crew teaches you all the best techniques and helps you to fillet the fish you catch.

The most commonly caught fish is catfish, cod, haddock, mackerel and pollack and of course what you catch, you can keep. At the end of the tour you can barbecue your catch on board, fresh and without any fuss, or take it to one of the local restaurants to enjoy a fully cooked meal.

Exclusive Sea Angling Tours
Elding offers various exclusive sea angling tours for individual, small groups and large groups. The course of the tour is custom made for each party depending on needs and wishes. The boats available for exclusive sea angling are Elding, Elding II and Faxi.
