Tour at 17:00

The whales were still out there, lots of Minke whales and the Humpback. They were not feeding as actively as this morning, actually we observed the Humpback whale for most of the trip, it was very difficult to take our eyes off it. It was swimming very calmly all around the boat, again, almost close enough to touch. Another fantastic trip, with some dolphins on the way back to the harbour. This has truly been one of the best days of the season with some up-close encounters with some fantastic animals! :D

Tour at 13:00

A very similar trip to the one at 9:00; Minke whales, Humpback whale and white-beaked dolphins.

Tour at 9:00

Nice calm sea this morning when we sailed out onto Faxaflói bay. We came to a good area where there were some Minke whales around, but we decided to sail on a bit further. We found over a thousand birds feeding in one area, there were lots of Minke whales around, and also a Humpback whale! We haven't seen the Humpback in 8 or 9 days now but it's back, and its one of the same individuals that we have been observing for the past few weeks, with a distinct white pattern on its tail stock (shaped like a flower). The Humpback was lunge feeding, and so were the Minke whales. We saw the pink belly of the Minke whales coming up to the surface. To finish off the trip we had a group of white-beaked dolphins which the passengers could enjoy. A fantastic tour with the whales close enough to touch, really spectacular, one of the best trips this season!!
