CLASSIC WHALE WATCHING | 0900

Report from Hafsula: We sailed out today once again with clear blue skies. In the harbour it felt like summer but as we got further out the wind picked up. We had beautiful views of the mountains and at some point were completely surrounded by Northern fulmars flying extremely close to the boat. It did take us quite some time to find any cetaceans but we spotted a blow to our side and tried to track it down. This blow was seen 2 more times though we never saw the body of the animal. It was likely a minke whale, based on the behaviour but tricky to say for certain. Later we did find a pod of 3 white beaked dolphins. They were quite a fun pod, first bow-riding and then swimming off probably for their mid morning snack. We tried to follow them but they were quite quick, so we headed on with our journey too. We stayed out as long as we could but didnt spot anymore marine mammals so offered complimentary tickets in the end. This way everyone can try their luck on another day for free!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 1300

Report from Hafsula: We set off this afternoon with clear skies and the sun shining on our face. Once we left the harbour, the wind picked up a bit. Whenever we were sailing with the wind in our backs, we could enjoy the sun and at this moment it really felt like summer was just around the corner. Unfortunately we did not get any sighting of marine mammals this afternoon. Despite not giving up hope for the duration of the trip, we did eventually ran out of time and had to return back to port. Not losing faith for the upcoming days, we handed out free complimentary tickets to our passengers.
