Tour at 13:00

A wonderful afternoon tour! We spotted all four cetacean species which live in Faxaflói bay. First we spotted a breaching humpback whale from far away and stayed with it for a little bit when we finally reached it. Throughout the whole tour we had many minke whales all around the boat. Then suddenly a group of dolphins visited us, but they stayed only for a short while. After that we had a really nice, enjoyable group of harbour porpoises playing in front of the boat. Later we found the humpback whale again. This time it was more active: lobtailing, rolling, waving its large flippers, showing its fluke, and feeding...

Report from Elding The tour started at Akurey where we watched the cute puffins for a while. When we came out on the bay we sailed towards an area with several flocks of feeding birds - and yay! There were many many minke whales in that area too, feeding and surfacing all around the boat. The weather was beautiful as well, so everybody had a great time watching the whales and listening to them breathing. Towards the end of the tour we spotted a blow - and yay again! A humpback whale! We enjoyed seeing it surface several times, with accompanying blow, before heading back to the harbour. A very good morning indeed :)
